Kevin Warner
VP of Development
Kevin S. Warner is a Professor of Dance Studies in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Appalachian State University. He served as the university’s Sharpe Chair from 2021-2025 and as Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance from 2015-2019. He was Chair of the Department of Dance and Director of the Interdisciplinary Arts for Children Program at SUNY Brockport from 2008 - 2015. While in New York, he also served as the Advocacy Chair of the New York State Dance Education Association and as a Co-director of the Hunter Institute on Young Children when it was housed at SUNY Brockport. From 2004 to 2008, he was the Program Director of the North Carolina A+ Schools Program and was a founding A+ Fellow in 1995. He has taught in public schools in both North Carolina and New York.

Kevin is an evaluation team member for the National Association of Schools of Dance and the Vice President of Professional Development for NCDEO. For NDEO, he was part of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion team, and he regularly serves as a conference proposal reviewer, NHSDA adjudicator, and Awards Committee member. He was recently on the K-12 dance curriculum revision committee for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.Â
