NHSDA Student Leadership Conference 2025

Do You Have a Passion for Dance and Leadership?
The National Honor Society for Dance Arts – North Carolina Chapter is seeking dynamic presenters for our first-ever NC NHSDA Student Leadership Conference, happening November 14–15, 2025, at UNC-Charlotte!

This two-day event will bring together middle and high school NHSDA members from across the state for meaningful connection, artistic growth, and the development of leadership skills that reach beyond the studio.

We are inviting dance educators, teaching artists, and professionals in the arts and beyond to submit proposals for engaging sessions that align with our conference theme:
“Leading the Movement: Empower. Express. Elevate!”
​
We are looking for session proposals that:

Inspire and activate student leadership in dance and beyond

Foster collaboration, advocacy, and creative expression
-
Develop technical, choreographic, or performance skills in a student-led context
-
Support social-emotional learning, wellness, or community-building through dance
-
Elevate student voice in curriculum, performance, or civic action
-
Reflect on identity, artistry, and the power of movement to influence change
Session Formats May Include:

Workshops (movement-based or interactive)
-
Panel Discussions
-
Leadership Labs or Roundtables
-
Mini Intensives or Technique Classes
Important Info:
Presenters will receive complimentary conference admission and recognition on the official program and website.Sessions will run 60 - 75 minutes, and co-presenters are welcome. Sessions will only be on November 15, 2025. This conference is a kick-off to the national NHSDA Love Your Body Week.
