Laura Stauderman

NC DPI Representative, Ex-Officio Member-at-Large

Dr. Laura Stauderman graduated from the University of the Arts (BFA/Dance Ed), Teachers College, Columbia University (MA/Dance Ed), and from Drexel University’s School of Education (Education Leadership & Management, Ed.D). Dr. Stauderman in a National Board Certified Teacher with over 25 years of experience as an arts educator in magnet, private, and public education. Former roles include Dance Director at HWB Magnet School for the Arts, FL, Newark Academy, NJ, East Millbrook Magnet Middle School, NC, and Holly Springs High School, NC. She served on the Board of the North Carolina Dance Education Organization in the roles of President, President-Elect, Vice-President for Professional Development, and Member-at-Large/NHSDA coordinator. Dr. Stauderman has presented on topics in Arts Education at local and national conferences. She joined the NCDPI Office of Academic Standards Arts Education Team as the K-12 Visual Arts and Dance Consultant in July 2023 supporting North Carolina public school teachers in implementing comprehensive arts education. Her work includes sustaining statewide implementation of the NC Arts Education Standards, developing resources, providing professional development, and coordinating efforts to build stakeholder capacity.
